     Title: RTP Grant

Good news!

We have been recommended to receive the 2008 Recreational Trails Program Grant by New York State.  The RTP is a federally funded program that was (they are trying to discontinue the program for 2009) put in place to help make public and private lands more accessible to the general population.  Our application was specific to the purchase of a brand new groomer.  We currently have groomers that are 1990's vintage that are becoming more difficult to maintain.  If we are approved for the grant (which is the next step in the process), we will be adding a brand new machine to our aging fleet!

Thanks to all the club volunteers as well as our local district administrator who helped with our application.

We also would like to thank the Town of Ellery, Town of Ellicott, Town of Gerry, Town of Stockton, Village of Bemus Point (Mayor Bryan Dahlberg), Chautaqua County Industrial Development Agency, NYSDEC (Stephen Smith), County Executive Gregory Edwards, State Senator Cathy Young,  State Assemblyman William Parment, and US Senator Charles Schumer for thier support!

We will keep you posted on the ongoing process.
