Trail Work

With approximately 70 miles of trails in Chautauqua County, the work never seems to end.  If you are able bodied and like to work with your hands, we can always use the help.

Thanks to all who volunteer thier time to provide a wonderful riding experience!!!

Each year a date is chosen to officially open the trails on a County-Wide basis. This date hinges on many factors that are considered in order to take into account the interests of everyone. One of the largest reasons that the trails do not open until December 19th is based on a request of many landowners, whose generosity accounts for our extensive trail system. With everyone's interests considered, much of the necessary trail work such as repairs to bridges, clearing of downed branches and putting up signage cannot be performed until hunting season has come to an end. It takes a massive effort on the part of the dedicated volunteers to get this work done in time, and waiting to use the trails until they are opened will be your part to ensure a good and safe season for all and to ensure that we do not loose the use of any of our trails. Remember, the use of snowmobile trails prior to the official opening date is trespassing! It is imperative that everyone works together and obeys the rules in order to continue to enjoy our sport.
